On this tour you will discover some of the most beautiful places of Arica and the Northern part of the country. You will cross the Lluta and Azapa Valley, where you can visit the oldest mummies in the world, learn about the native flora and fauna of the National Park Lauca, and much more.
We start from your hotel towards the Market Asoagro (typical fruit and vegetable market), then continue to the Azapa Valley where we observe various geoglyphs. Afterwards we visit the archaeological mueseum of Azapa, then cross the fertile Lluta Valley and pass the village of Poconchile. You will see the candelabra cactuses, the fort Pukara of Copaquilla, have lunch in Zapahuira and after visiting the village of Socoroma we finally get to Putre (3.500m).
In the morning we depart from Putre towards the National Park Lauca. We realize a small hike at Las Cuevas („The Caves“), appreciating the flora and fauna of the highlands in the North of Chile, then we visit the viewpoints of Chucuyo and the Lagoons of Cotacotani. We stop in the village of Parinacota to finally get to the Lake Chungara (4.500m), the highest lake in the world. On our way back you can enjoy a relaxing bath at the Thermal Baths of Jurasi, then we make our way to the city of Arica.
